GRP pipe production line

Engineering and turn-key delivery of continuous winding lines for continuous production, handling, machining and testing of Glass fibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Pipes and couplings in diameters ranging from 300mm to 4000mm. The continuous winder is provided with a cylindrically shaped mandrel that is formed by a continuous steel band mandrel. This has the advantage that no large inventory of expensive moulds is required.
A release film is first applied on the mandrel. Liner materials are applied directly on the release film. Chopped fibres, sand filler and resin are accurately metered in precise amounts by glass fibre choppers, a sand unit and resin dosing units as the mandrel moves. The equipment can be provided with a dual resin delivery system for application of a Vinyl Ester liner resin for severe corrosive applications.
The laminate is cured with a combination of induction heating through the steel band and infrared elements directly heating the laminate.
Pipes can be cut to any length with the saw unit. This unit is synchronized with the continuous longitudinal movement of the pipe which ensures a clean perpendicular cut.
