PRODUCTION LINE FOR FILAMENT WINDING
DISCONTINUOUS WINDING
Autonational Composites has 40 years of experience in filament winding production processes for high volume production but also for low volumes that require high accuracy and reproducibility. Our engineers are experts in this field and can help with any manufacturing challenge you may have. Any filament winding process can be integrated, automated, expanded and upgraded by Autonational Composites! Autonational Composites uses existing technologies and we invent what does not exist.
Filament winding machines & composite production lines based on discontinuous winding are based on the principle of laying fiber filament windings over a cylindrical mould or mandrel using a carriage that is traveling along the axis of that mandrel. The mandrel is fixed on a mandrel stand and is rotated by an asynchronous motor.
Autonational Composites supplies production lines for discontinuous filament winding:
Starting with a filament winding machine and its basic accessories, being the core of a line.
All line components in order to produce a complete composite product.
Logistics and automation to achieve an automation production environment.

Mandrel extraction machinery
Mandrel Extraction machinery or strippers are used to separate the filament wound product from the mandrel. Autonational Composites has a program of extractors available which suits most common applications, with respect to mandrel diameter (cylindrical/conical), extraction & brake force, extraction position(s), etc.

Processing equipment
couple, saw, drill, spray
Most filament wound products should be further processed after winding. Further processing & finishing ranges from tailoring to size, surface treatment to drilling & milling operations. Also adding extra components to the product can be a next manufacturing step. Autonational Composites supplies all necessary machinery for these operations.
AUTOMATED PRODUCTION LINE
By adding logistics to an filament winding production line, but also system integration and overall programming (parent control), you can realize a fully automated production line.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION & OVERALL PROGRAMMING
System integration is defined as the process of bringing together the component subsystem into one system and ensuring that the subsystems function together as a system. These skills include software, systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and general problem solving skills. Efficient overall programming is the key to system integration.
